We invite you to join us in San Diego this summer for the third PlugFest! The event will take place June 23-24, two days just prior to ISTE 2012 in San Diego. We'll start with a reception Friday evening, June 22nd, followed by collaborative group work sessions ending mid-day Sunday June 24th. PlugFest will be held jointly with a hack day event by Mozilla's Open Badges project.
The two-day hands-on event will be focused on collaborative work to connect state repositories, portals, content collections, and communities to the Learning Registry; to build tools to explore the data we have; and to work on the Learning Registry code to add new features.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This Plugfest is an open hands-on technical event. Do you have metadata or paradata that describes your learning resources that you want to get into the Learning Registry (you have access to the data and you know what format you have)? Do you have data about how learning resources relate to, or align with, the Common Core or state standards that you want to share via the Learning Registry? Do you want to operate a node in the Learning Registry network? Are there additional features that you would like to help implement? Do you want to create mashups with the Learning Registry? Do you want to build value-added data services on top of the Learning Registry?
If any of these describe you and your goals, you are a member of our target audience. While programming experience and abilities are desired, we may be able to work with you and your data and tools if you can provide our developers with the technical details they require to link your world to the Learning Registry.
We will assume that you know what the Learning Registry is and why we are building it. You should have programming/software engineering/development skills and plan to come to write code along with us. If you just want to find out more about the Learning Registry, you probably won't find this event useful--look at the agenda to see why.

the venue. You should be signed up to the Learning Registry Collaborator Google Group (for discussing project ideas and finding collaborators) and Developers Google Group (for technical discussions).
Consistent with the Learning Registry's openness principles, this is an open meeting. Our code and data are all available under open licenses and work that you do will need to fit into this scheme. We will be taking photos and recording audio and video. People will be tweeting in real time.
We encourage all participants to tweet, blog and let others know about the event in real time. Our hash tag is #learningreg.
