A-CAPPELLA - Today is the last day to audition or join Mouat's new A-Cappella group! Come to the music room at lunch and start singing!

JR GIRLS' BASKETBALLThere will be a very brief meeting in ROOM 140 (Miss Booy’s room) at lunch today for any girls who want to try-out for the JUNIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM. If you are considering trying out for the JUNIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM this year make sure you come to ROOM 140 at lunch TODAY for a brief meeting.

JR GIRLS' VOLLEYBALLAll Junior Girls Volleyball players must come to the gym at lunch today for a short meeting.

GRADE 12 STUDENTSGrade 12 students and their parents are encouraged to attend the Post-Secondary Institution night this Thursday 6:30 pm September 21st at Mouat. A number of colleges, universities and trades schools will be there to help you explore various post-secondary options available to students. Learn about the application process for college and university. Get valuable information about deadlines and application fees, and ask questions to local college and university representatives.  Any questions, talk to Ms. Solgaard in the Career Centre.

INTRAMURALSToday is the FIRST game in the Intramural Dodgeball schedule. Jr. Teams Lavar Ballers vs. Team Sidhu Moose Wala.  Please NO food or drinks in the gym at lunch. Come on down and support Intramurals!

ABORIGINAL PROGRAM

  • Aboriginal students are invited to Monday’s first feast of the year on Monday at lunch. Bring one friend and enjoy this social and cultural event for free. Lunch provided for free, moccasin draw and some surprises!
  • Aboriginal Education forms need to be returned as soon as possible to either Mrs. Schroeder in room 149A or Mrs. Zapanta in the Mouat House.
  • Aboriginal students wanting to attend Qwalena, the multimedia retelling of the Wild Woman of the Woods legend, see Mrs. Schroeder for attendance details. Performance will be Thursday in the theatre block D and flex.

FALL ATHLETES A reminder to all fall athletes (swimming, football, volleyball, cross country) that they must attend a meeting immediately after school today in the cafeteria.

LOCKERS - If you still need a locker, please come to the office at lunch today WITH ALL YOUR COMPLETED FORMS as lockers will not be assigned without them.  Please also provide your Homeroom Number.

CARNIVAL - Make sure you don’t miss the carnival today from 3:30-6:30 followed by a football game! Have you ever wanted to see your teacher suffer? This is your chance, come out to the Friday night lights carnival and get the chance to dunk your teacher in a tank of cold water!! There will be many more carnival games including inflatables!! Admission is $2 or can of food. Mouat friends and family are welcome. See you there Mouat!

PICTURE DAY - Say cheese!  Tomorrow is Picture Day!  Photographer will start first thing in the morning so be ready.  All students will receive a complimentary ID card but if you want any other photos you will need to have an order form completed with payment enclosed.  Don't forget to put your name and HAT room on the envelope.  Please do not give your teacher the order envelope.  Instead, give it to the photographer directly when you have your picture taken.  If you didn't get an order envelope, they are available in the office.

ABORIGINAL NEWS

  • The first field trip of the year will be a Walk for Reconciliation at Mill Lake on Orange Shirt Day Friday, September 29 where there will be a ceremony and the Canada 150 House Post will be raised at the Kariton House. Field trip forms are now available. Teachers interested in coordinating with this field trip, please contact Mrs. Schroeder. One bus will be provided.
  • Orange Shirts will be distributed starting this week in the Aboriginal Program room 149A.
  • Mouat Aboriginal Student Council will have its first meeting today at lunch. Food will be provided.
  • Aboriginal students are asked to see Mrs. Schroeder for an Aboriginal Education form. A draw will be held on Friday for those who have returned them Friday’s draw winners were  Maxwell G., Coral F., Rebekah H. and Matthew M. who can collect their prizes at the end of lunch today.
