We generally host an annual, global conference, connecting improvement practitioners from around the world and supporting the continuous improvement of our own community. We can't deliver a face-to-face conference in 2020; we're hosting a global festival instead.
From 29-23 October 2020 Lean in Higher Education are hosting an online, global and free festival for our community to share their experiences for the benefit of all. Get involved and:
Share the latest learning with lean leaders in universities from all around the globe
Fuel your skills and passion in these challenging times
Be part of a movement for the good of all our Universities and all they serve.
Keep an eye out for our call for submissions at the end of July!
We’re interested in hearing from our global community, so start thinking about how you might:
Lead for a wider audience an online session that you have delivered in-house recently;
Introduce emerging practitioners to a lean (or other methodology) tool, concept or approach (a list of some ideas will be available here soon);
Share a case study - tell the story of how you completed an improvement, including challenges and successes;
Spark a panel discussion - incorporate multiple perspectives or prompt discussion, such as a panel;
Share resources with emerging, established and expert practitioners (a list of some ideas will be available here soon)
Encourage others by sharing your origin-story (or how you implemented lean at your institution), regardless of where you are in your own journey;
Asking peers for help solving a real world problem (in a structured way);
Run an interactive session that engages our global population;
Or just ask us and we'll let you know if your topic is suitable.
Sessions may be delivered at any time during this period, in any time zone or language.
In late July, we'll be seeking proposals from improvement practitioners around the world. Anyone employed by a university may submit a proposal for an online presentation of up to 45 minutes.
We're aiming to make this festival as simple and lean as possible!
Proposals open (late July);
Submissions will be reviewed on rolling basis;
Each session lead will create an event on their desired online platform (e.g. Zoom. Just make sure it’s available externally), in a time zone and language suitable to them;
Sessions will then be connected to a central Lean HE Eventbrite site, so our global audience can access and register for all events centrally;
Our global audience may register through our central Lean HE Eventbrite site as events become available;
Leads deliver their sessions (making any slides or resources available), we all learn & develop and have fun!
19-23 October 2020, in time zones across the world.
Sessions will be run purely online. If you're looking for face-to-face delivery of content, keep an eye on our 2021 conference at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow!
Guidelines for how to submit will be available here at the end of June. Submissions will be open until 1 October 2020.
You may register for any session during the Lean HE Global Festival via Eventbrite - details will be made available here in early August.
