Ms. Wyman's 2nd Grade Class

"It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings."
 ---Ann Landers

Welcome to Ms. Wyman's Second Grade Class at Steiner Ranch Elementary where we are growing leaders for today and tomorrow.   What a blessing it is to have your child in our classroom.

I like to begin the year by quickly establishing a warm, inviting atmosphere where children feel free to express themselves. By building a classroom community, we develop cooperation, kindness, and a mutual respect for one another!

I have high academic and behavioral expectations for my students. I will constantly emphasize three principles in my classroom: be responsible, be respectful, and be curious. I expect every student will learn to the best of his or her ability. Students will strive to take responsibility for producing high quality work on all assignments and will work as a community. In addition to these expectations, I will help students learn to become increasingly independent as the year progresses. My goal is for all students to become independent learners and develop a desire for knowledge upon entering third grade.

I believe that it is important that we work as a team in order to make this year as successful as possible for your child. I want to be sure there is clear and frequent communication between home and school, because you are an integral part of your child’s education. We will communicate through your child’s homework folder, learning log, weekly news updates, email, and in many other ways. I would like to extend an invitation for you to contact me if you have any questions throughout the year. I can be reached through my classroom phone at (512) 570-5700 or via email at  I hope that you are as excited as I am about watching your child grow this year!"
