The National Honor Society also has as its goal the development of other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. These characteristics are service, leadership, and character. The purpose of the organization is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in individuals.
