TSI - Texas Success Initiative: Students who wish to enroll in college level courses (either as a traditional or Dual Credit student) must meet TSI standards showing basic college readiness in reading, writing and mathematics. These standards have been set by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for the assessments listed below and must be met in order to take college level course work at any Texas public higher education institution.

Dual Credit students are eligible to take the TSI Assessment one time for FREE at an LISD campus. Retesting is available at an ACC campus, but must be paid for by the student.  Please see the TSI Assessment & Exemptions page on the College & Career Transition Coordinator’s website for more details, including registration procedures.

Students must provide proof of qualifying exemption scores to determine exemption from further testing: e.g. PSAT Reading/Writing and SAT Math.  However, students musmeethe composite score on ACand SAT first, then consider the skill area.
