Digital Citizenship is the norms of appropriate and responsible behavior with the use of technology. There are nine elements of digital citizenship: access, commerce, communication, literacy, etiquette, law, rights & responsibilities, health & wellness, and self-protection.

Digital Citizenship is not just another teaching tool. It is a way of preparing our students for a world of technology.

Recommendations for Classroom Practice
  • teach students the different elements of being a digital citizen
  • use the Technology Application TEKS in conjunction with curriculum to teach digital citizenship
