Welcome to 8th grade English / Language Arts!
Why study English / Language Arts (ELA)?
ELA is important "because communication isn’t optional.” *
Every day, every waking moment we communicate - either verbally or non-verbally through our words, tone, posture, gestures, and facial expressions. So, why not learn to communicate powerfully and effectively?
This school year, students will hone their skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in order to gain knowledge and develop confidence as they prepare for high school and beyond. My goal is to provide a supportive and engaging environment where my students are inspired to further develop the academics, creativity, and character necessary to be dynamic in their current and future communities.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns throughout the year. The most effective way to reach me is through email. I will return any e-mail correspondence by the end of the next school day.
