Why I teach: I use to hate school. I had an elementary school teacher tell me I was "too stupid" to read a book my friends were reading. I later had a teacher who changed my life. I began working hard, and learning how to learn. When my dad noticed my shift he asked what was changing. I told him I had a teacher who believed in me. His response was - good teachers believe in you until you can believe in yourself. That was when I knew I wanted to teach. My second interest became science, so I received my Degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Colorado, and began my teaching career, immediately after graduating. I've never looked back. This job has kept me laughing, loving and believing in our future. I've been blessed to get to work the last 11 years here at Canyon, and I love our community, and feel honored to play a part!
My family: My husband Mark and I met rowing crew at the University of Colorado. We have a 12 year old daughter named Rowyn. The three of us have a blast together wake surfing, back packing and continuously looking for new adventures.
