This year, I am teaching Algebra I and Pre-AP Algebra II.  I am also the sponsor for the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society and an AVID site team member.  I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master’s of Science in Education from Old Dominion University. I am retired from the United States Navy, having spent 25 years of service as a Naval Flight Officer.

I look forward to getting to know all of my students as well as their parents. Together, I am confident that our team of teachers, students, and parents will be successful in developing our students’ mathematics skills and in preparing them for adult life!

My philosophy and expectations on education and mathematics are simple: WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER, NEVER GIVE UP, COMMIT YOURSELF TO A LIFETIME OF LEARNING! While I expect that many will be challenged by my classes and the subject matter, I am sure that my students will succeed by applying the necessary effort and demonstrating the appropriate motivation.
