Teaching Philosophy:

Learning first and foremost is a passion in my life. Teaching is the platform in which I get to express this passion. I was raised in a background of teaching as my mother was a teacher and she taught me to have an understanding of the importance of education. This overflows into the relationship that I develop with my students, and trying to achieve the goal of getting students to not only understand the importance of education but to also grow as learners. How is this accomplished?

First, you must establish a good relationship with the students. Learning can never be accomplished in your classroom if a good classroom climate is not established. Not only do you have to have a good reputation with the students you also have to create a comfortable environment in which the student feel free to express themselves. This is truly where exponential learning can occur. As a teacher you have to understand a student’s background to truly be effective in the classroom. I make a point as a teacher to get to a student’s individualism and teach a student how learning can develop and make them who they are wanting to be.
