Ms. Jennings

This, 2017-18, school year is my 10th year at Cedar park High School.  I grew up in the Austin area and am delighted to be teaching in my hometown at such a quality school .Loving to learn myself and thriving when making art, I brought the two together with a BFA at Texas State University in Studio Art along with a teaching certificate, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After college I honed printmaking skills as a studio assistant for Austin artist Daryl Howard. Later, wanderlust led me to  Slovakia and the Czech Republic where
I taught English as a Second Language as well as  art for a year each.  Afterwards, I taught English and art in middle and high schools in Texas. In 2004, I returned to school to intensely develop my own art work. From the University of North Texas, I earned a Master of Fine Art in painting and drawing. While at UNT, as a Teaching Assistant, I instructed Drawing I., II. and 2D design. Then as a Teaching Fellow I taught Painting I.  I continue to professionally exhibit my art work, while teaching at Cedar Park High School.
All human beings are creative, by nature. It is my pleasure to tap into that innate capacity, leading students into an experience where techniques are developed and ideas bloom. May students experience the love of learning and satisfaction of creating through art class this year!
