The 8th grade U.S. History course focuses on the history, geography, culture, and economic and political institutions of the United States from the colonial period through the Civil War and Reconstruction.  Students use a variety of rich interdisciplinary primary and secondary sources including speeches, letters, diaries, as well as art, literature and music to learn about events, individuals, and diverse ethnic groups that shaped and enriched the United States during its formative years.
