About Mrs. Crockett

Welcome!  I am excited to be working with you this year.   I was born in New York but raised in Austin, Texas.  I went to Westwood High School and then Texas A&M for college where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences.  One thing you will learn about me this year, is about my obsession with the Aggies!   I enjoy watching football and even play fantasy football every fall.  In my free time I ride horses and teach riding lessons and camps.   I live on  5 acres in Liberty Hill with my husband and daughter, Mackenzie.  We also have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 3 horses.

This is my 12th year of teaching.  I have taught 5th grade math and science at Deer Creek, 6th grade science at RBMS and moved into my role as ESL Math specialist 4 years ago.  This year I will be supporting 6th, 7th and 8th grade through inclusion and small group instruction.  My goal is to provide support in their math core classes to help my students understand the math they are learning and how to apply it in all situations through enriching their understanding of the academic language.  I want my students to be problem solvers in math and beyond.  In order to encourage their problem solving abilities, my students will be productive and prepared and participate in their Collaborative Study Groups and differentiated menu activities.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns about how I can help you.  carrera.crockett@leanderisd.org
