Welcome to World Cultures
Hello Stiles Spartans! I look forward to getting to know each of you this year as we explore many of the cultures that make up our world. Sixth grade Social Studies is called World Cultures and Geography. We will be focusing on the geography, history, governments, economies, and ways of life in the various culture regions of the world. Each six weeks will have its own learning matrix, which will show our learning targets. In addition, each six weeks will have a new knowledge map, which will include the basic facts on which we will build our learning. These will always be available at the beginning of each six weeks on this website and in each student's interactive notebook (INB).
This spiral will become an important part of our course. Guidelines for students' INBs include:
*No pages are to be torn out or used for anything other than what is assigned in SS.
*Each page is numbered, and a table of contents is kept.
*No papers should be loose or hanging out the sides.
Lots of color and creativity will go into our INB's. Students will bring them home from time to time to show parents and to study for their quizzes and tests..
It is important that this spiral is brought to class each day, along with scissors, glue, and colored pencils.
