This study focuses on caregiving for elders 60+ years in Washington state. Issues identified: most elders want to remain in their homes but lack resources if they need care; elders face challenges getting information and navigating a complex system; Washington’s elder caregiving system relies heavily on family caregivers who themselves have challenges; there are not enough paid caregivers to meet current and projected elder caregiving needs; affordability of care is especially challenging.
