Dear Parents, Students and Community At Large,

Welcome to Andrew Jackson High School!  At the home of the Volunteers, you will find an exemplary faculty and students who excel inside and outside of the classroom all wrapped in a family atmosphere and within a community who embraces and supports its community school.  I know, because I live in this community and my children have been educated in these very schools.  Through a rigorous curriculum in the core classes combined with focus opportunities in the fine arts, career tracks and military, we are developing students with world-class skills and life and career characteristics that meet or exceed the Profile of the SC Graduate.

In 2016, the students of Andrew Jackson High School achieved higher than district averages on ACT scores in Science, Reading and Math, while also exceeding end of course district and state averages for US History.  Our Advanced Placement students had a passage rate of 84 percent in Calculus and 87 percent of our students also achieved workkeys certificates.  While test scores are important, we strive to develop the whole student by providing experiences outside of the classroom whether through athletics, arts, military or agriculture.  Consistently, our students take that same standard of excellence from the classroom into their extra curricular activities winning too many awards to list.  Year-over-year, we continue to push the standard of excellence.

Beginning in the Spring of 2017, construction of the 58,800 sq. ft. multi-purpose fine arts facility will commence and enable us to provide first class instructional facilities to students in these focus areas.  We want to ensure that students of all backgrounds and interests have an opportunity to grow and nurture their individual talents.

It is important that our students are prepared for their next step whether that is college, career or military.  Therefore, we have established a partnership with USC-Lancaster that allows students to earn dual high school and college course credits that can put them almost a year ahead in their college track.  We also stay in touch with our most recent graduates and seek feedback on what we can continue to improve to help them be more competitive at college or in the workplace.

Within these halls, you will find a student body that respects the strengths and talents of individuals, values its community, and looks for opportunities to give back. You will witness a faculty who works double time to ensure that our students are exposed to the vast opportunities within their grasp and who inspires them to achieve greatness.  You will find Volunteers in the truest sense of the word who are bold and courageous and up to the task.

Welcome to Andrew Jackson High School.  We are certain that you will want to call this place home.
