Important Testing Announcement for Second Graders
Picture of a test with a pencil

The second grade students will be taking the Cognitive Abilities (CogAT) and the Iowa Assessment (IA) tests on the following schedule below:

Nov. 2nd, 3rd, and 6th
Nov. 7th & 8th

These test results are used as one of the determining factors for admission into the gifted and talented classes at The Discovery School.  Please make sure your child comes to school on time, eats a healthy breakfast the mornings of the tests, and receives plenty of sleep the nights before the tests.  There is no way to prepare for these assessments, so just encourage your child to do their best and not to be discouraged if they come across difficult questions.  You may want to send them with a light weight sweater or jacket in case the room becomes colder while they are sitting through the tests.
