First Grade is a fun-filled year where we work together to become stronger readers, writers, and mathematicians! We will dive into books, author our own stories, and explore new math concepts. It is our goal at North to help your child develop a love of learning!

This is my 12th year teaching at North Elementary and will be my ninth year teaching first grade! I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and received my Masters of Education in Teaching with a specialty in Literacy and Reading from USC. I live in Lancaster with my husband, Justin, our two daughters, Ella Catherine and Eliza, and our dog, Zoe. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends. I also enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, crafting, going to movies, and watching football. Go Gamecocks!
