Important Survey for 2018 Bond Issue

posted May 15, 2017, 10:03 AM by Denise Puentes

We are beginning our work on the upcoming 2018 Bond Issue and beginning in June, the Bond Advisory/Capital Projects Committee will be reviewing requests from schools and departments and compiling a list of recommendations to present to the Executive Cabinet and LCPS Board of Education for our upcoming bond election that will go the voters in our community in February 2018.  This process is intended to be a collaborative process that includes all stakeholders in our school community working together to identify and prioritizing the needs at our school.

The following questions will help us to determine our school needs.  As you complete this survey, please keep in mind that our school has recently gone through renovations and new construction and we are requesting on items that we need, not want.

Please know that items such as classroom items (computers, marker boards, furniture, books, etc...) are not funded through Bond monies.  Bond monies are designated for new construction, remodeling, repairs and building improvements.

Thank you for taking your time to answer this short survey.  Click here for survey.

Pennies For Patients

posted Jan 17, 2017, 7:06 AM by Denise Puentes   [ updated Jan 17, 2017, 7:08 AM ]

This week our school joins 27, 000 school nationwide in the Pennies for Patients Campaign.  Beginning today, 1/17/17 through 1/30/17, we will help children who are sick with blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.

All you have to do is collect coins or dollars and put them in your collection box.  When your collection box gets full, turn in your money to your teacher to put the money you’ve collected in the classroom box.  You may reuse your box throughout the 2 weeks.  All money is due by Jan. 30th.

If our school reaches our goal of $1500, our school Administrators will dress up as clowns for the day and the top earner for each grade group (PreK-2 & 3-5) will get to throw a pie in their face!!

If your class comes in 1st place for donating the most amount of money, they will win a class party!!

Additionally, we will participate in the following:

  •  This Wed. 1/18/17—We encourage everyone to wear Orange, which is the ribbon color for Leukemia Awareness
  • This Fri. 1/20/17—“Hats off to our Cancer Survivors” Students & Staff can pay a quarter to wear a hat to school
  • Tues. 1/24/17—“Team up against Leukemia” Students & Staff can pay a quarter to wear their favorite team jersey/shirt
  • Fri. 1/27/17—“Hugs for friends with Cancer”  Students can pay a quarter to bring their favorite stuffed animal with them to school on this day.

Please help us by sending whatever you can.

Thank you,
