 Dear Parent/Student

It is hard to believe that the summer break is almost over and the start of a new school year is beginning.  We have been working diligently to ensure we are ready to welcome back every student, whether returning or new to Las Cruces High School.

In order to ensure a smooth transition and to complete registration, senior, junior, and sophomore students can view their schedules on-line by going to StudentVUE.  Schedules will be available on-line staring the morning of Monday, August 8.  If you are unable to access your schedule on-line, you may pick up your schedule at the campus on Tuesday, August 9, 10:00am to 2:00pm in the DAWG House.

If you are unable to access your schedule on-line and you cannot pick up your schedule on Tuesday, August 9, you may pick up your schedule and paperwork on the first day of school in your Advisory class.

Please call the Guidance Office at 575-527-9402, if you have any questions.  We look forward to seeing you.

 Sincerely,

 Jed Hendee

Principal

July 25, 2016

 Welcome Freshmen and Parents/Guardians:

It is with great anticipation that we look forward to meeting you and serving you during your high school years – Class of 2020.  It won’t be long until you are walking across the stage receiving your diploma. It is our hope that you feel welcome and successful at Las Cruces High School – the home of the Dawgs.  Las Cruces High School offers many opportunities to pursue your interests and reach your goals – it is all about getting involved. LCHS staff is prepared to help everyone transition into high school and learn what opportunities are offered at Las Cruces High School.

In order to ensure a smooth transition and complete our registration, we are requiring our incoming freshmen students to attend Freshmen Orientation on Wednesday, August 10th  from 6p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  We will begin the evening in the gym with a short assembly, then students will pick up their schedules and tour the campus. Please use east building, east door entrance, which is facing Frenger pool.

General Information for Monday, August 15, 2016: school will start at 8:40 AM and all students will attend Odd numbered classes, reporting to their Advisory class first.  You will find this class on your schedule as the 9th period class – Advisory.

Go to the district web site for information regarding bus routes or pick up times, or call 527-5998.  The district web site has other useful information to help with the beginning of the school year.  www.lcps.k12.nm.us

If you are unable to attend the above orientation, you can get your Advisory class in the main office on the morning of August 15th where LCHS Staff will be able to direct you to your Advisory class.  All students will receive an up-to-date copy of their schedule in their Advisory class on the first day of school. This new schedule is the one you are to follow, as it will have all changes and most current updates. If you would like to view your classes you may log in to StudentVue or ParentVue and look up Class Schedule.

We hope to see you on August 10th.  Please call the Guidance Office at 527-9402, if you have any questions.

 Sincerely,

LCHS Staff
