December 1 Deadline:  NMSU Scholarship / President’s Associates Excellence Scholarship – 3.75 GPA and 28 ACT or 3.5 GPA and 30 ACT.  Award covers tuition and fees ($3250 stipend per academic year and a one-year $4000 Housing Award). GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

September 27 Deadline:  National College Match / Quest Bridge – Approximate to 10% ranking, ACT 28 / SAT 1240 and income based (eligible for free or reduced lunch).  For select colleges only. Award varies. Apply at http://ww.questbridge.org/.  

September 30 Deadline:  PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) – Female, nominated by a local chapter.  3.0 GPA and excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular, and community service.  Award of $2500. Turn in a resume and letter of interest to Ms. Tarin to apply.

October 6 Deadline:  AES Engineering Scholarship – Essay required (Topic:  When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?)  Award of $500.  Apply at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarship.php.

October 17 Deadline, 3:00 pm:  Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship – Athlete with a 3.0 GPA and demonstrated leadership in the school and/or community.  Award varies, from $500 to $5000. Apply at www.wendysheisman.com.

October 25 Deadline:  Horatio Alger Association Scholarship – Demonstrate critical financial need (less than $55000), 2.0 GPA, extracurricular activities and community service involvement.  Ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, determination, and perseverance. Award varies, $6000 o $25000. Apply at http://scholars.horatioalger.org.

November 6 Deadline:  Prudential Spirit of Community Awards – Active community service background.  Award of $1000 and a paid trip to Washington D.C. Apply at http://spirit.prudential.com/.

November 15 Deadline:  Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student – US citizen.  Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.  Applicants need not be related to an Elks member. Award of $1000 to $12000.  Apply at http://enf.elks.org/mvs.

February 1 Deadline:  Elks National Foundation Legacy Award – US citizen.  Applicants will be judged on scholarship and leadership.   Must be either a child or grandchild of an Elks member. Award of $4000.  Apply at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars/.
