I was raised on Eastern Long Island in New York state. I received an Associates degree from Suffolk Community College and went on to Oneonta State College also in New York. I received a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. I have also earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Long Island University at Southampton.

I began my teaching career in Louisa county in 1980. I taught 6th grade math, science, and health. I have also taught 5th grade as a self-contained classroom. I have taught 6th grade math and language. After two years teaching third grade I spent several years teaching fourth grade. Several years ago I changed to a title 1 intervention program focusing on reading and math with 4th and 5th graders.

This year I am  charged with the responsibility of intervention specialist in math for students in grades three thru five. I will work with small groups of students to focus on what they need support in in math . It will be a very targeted instruction to best help the children learn.
