Global Play Day!

Our annual Global Play Day is this Wednesday.  Students should bring in toys from home to play with in the classroom that day. NO ELECTRONICS.

Details here:

Students will engage in play with toys that do NOT require batteries or electricity. No devices. Teachers/ Adults don't organize anything for students, don't tell students how to play with the toys/games, and don't interfere with students unless they see something unsafe. More and more research underscores the critical importance of play in the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children - including this study from 2018 from the American Association of Pediatrics. Last year over a half-million kids participated in 72 countries; This year, the projection is one million. This is often a favorite day for kids- a day when they get to play at school!

School Hot Lunch Update! - From the Office

All Lunch Master meals are provided to students' families at no cost, regardless of income. However, it is important to note that the District does pay for each lunch so only order if your child enjoys eating the school meals provided to them. Make sure to add your teacher’s name to your lunch master accounts because stickers are sent directly to classrooms before lunch service. This is important as it allows students to have a sticker ready before lunchtime.

If a student doesn't receive a sticker and does not have lunch from home, teachers can send their students to the cafeteria for an "Emergency" lunch. An “ER” lunch is an entree that is being served for that day, it has not been previously frozen, it’s what's available from the menu of that day. Please be sure to order before the deadline of Tuesday 9 a.m. for the following week, so a week ahead of time.
