Transportation

If you are planning to use the shuttle bus, please print out the Bus Access Letter.pdf and show it to the bus driver.

Transportation from SFO/OAK to Berkeley:

If you fly into SFO we suggest BART to transport you to and from Berkeley.

SFO to Berkeley by BART:
At the SFO station, take the Pittsburgh/Bay Point train to the 19th St. Oakland station. Get off that train and take the Richmond train to the Downtown Berkeley BART station.

From OAK
, it may be easier to take a taxi or airport shuttle, but there is also a bus (AirBART) that can take you to a nearby BART station.

OAK to Berkeley
by AirBART (bus) and BART:
http://www.bart.gov/guide/airport/inbound_oak

Airport shuttle:
If you will be using an airport shuttle, Bayporter Express is recommended by the Berkeley Lab Guest House:
http://www.bayporter.com/
The Bayporter Express shuttle is familiar with the lab, and will drop you off and pick you up at the Berkeley Lab Guest House

The Hotel Shattuck Plaza is about a one minute walk (about 100 feet) from the Downtown Berkeley BART station.

If you are staying at the Berkeley Lab (LBNL) Guest House, after you get off at the Downtown Berkeley station, if you are arriving on Monday through Friday, 6:20 am - 7:16 pm, then you can take the
Berkeley Lab (LBNL) Shuttle to the Guest House (please see shuttle information below). Otherwise, take a taxi (parked around the BART station area) to the Berkeley Lab Guest House. Tell the taxi driver to drive up Hearst to the Berkeley main gate. From the main gate, go up straight on Chu Road, make a right at the first circle into Smoot Road, and then take a right at McMillan Road. The Guest House is located about 100 meters up to your left.
