All travel to conferences on DOE funds requires an additional approval through the Conference Services department.  If you are unsure if your funds are considered DOE funds, please contact your budget analyst.  Note that all overhead accounts are considered DOE funds, regardless of what grant funding the overhead is drawn from.

You can read in detail about this requirement HERE.  As early as possible (even if you are not sure you will attend), please fill out the below request form.  You can let Noah Schwartz (NISchwartz@lbl.gov or 510-486-4957) know if you will not attend the conference later.

How to determine if this requirement applies for your conference:

Conference Services has provided guidance from the DOE which states, "DOE defines a conference as a meeting, retreat, seminar, symposium, workshop, or event that involves attendee travel. A conference is generally organized for the purpose of facilitating a discussion or exchange of views on matters related to the mission of DOE."  Please review the criteria HERE.  If the conference is determined to be reportable (or you are unsure), please fill out the below form.
