Dr. Yuan's research focuses on theoretical aspects on nucleon structure and hadron physics. The primary goal is to investigate the QCD landscape of the atomic nucleon and nuclei.
He came to LBNL as a Division Fellow in 2007, and has been a senior scientist since 2012. Before joining LBNL, he was postdoc researcher at the RIKEN/BNL Research Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York, Universtiy of Maryland, College Park, and Heidelberg University, Germany.
He has been awarded Early Career Research Program from DOE Office of Science, from 2010-2015. He has been a Fellow of American Physical Society since 2014.
