Walkarounds

Walkarounds are an opportunity for you to engage in a dialogue with your staff. The more open-ended the questions, the more opportunity for issues to be discussed. The questions provided are a guide, but the purpose is to identify issues and concerns so they can be addressed. The Computing Sciences Integrated Safety Management Plan specifies that supervisors will do a walkaround twice a year. One of the walkarounds can be with the Division Director or Deputy.

The Group Lead and Manager Checklist is a paper form that may be helpful in noting walkaround observations, to be transferred later to the online form.

A powerpoint presentation summarizes walkaround goals and tips.

Go here to access the CS Supervisor Walkaround Form and enter your observations.
