Welcome to Los Altos School District's iLearn Summer Academy 2012 and a journey into learning!
May just completed her sixth year of teaching at Oak School in the sixth grade. Originally from southern California, she was inspired to go into teaching after spending one summer teaching English in a rural city in China after completing High School. She also spent four summers in a probationary school in Orange County teaching CAHSEE prep courses for at risk students. After completing her credential and Masters in Education at UC Davis, she moved to the bay area. May has always loved integrating technology into the classroom and trying something new each year. This past year she focused on integrating collaborative writing and teacher feedback in writing with the use of Google Docs.
Amy just finished her fifth year as a 6th grade teacher at Almond Elementary School. She completed her 7th year of teaching and has taught 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade. Amy has a Master's degree in educational technology and enjoys finding fun and innovative ways to engage and inspire students while using technology in her classroom. Amy was also founder and co-owner of Fun With Media, a digital media studio for kids and adults.
