Meet the Teacher:

Greetings Family,

To o all of our new scholars and families, welcome to LMS, to all of our returning STARS...WELCOME BACK!!!! My name is Mrs. Pamela Martin, and like the La Salle way, I AM SOMEBODY! I'm elated to join the De La Salle and La Salle Middle School Family this year as the English Language Arts Instructional Lead and Reading Interventionist.  I'm a native of St. Louis, Missouri, I'm the middle child of four siblings, and I love listening to classical music.  My husband and I are the blessed parents of five children. Additionally, I'm a proud graduate of Lafayette High School, and an alumnus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Webster University, Fontbonne University, and Maryville University.  With great passion and zeal for helping young people succeed, I affirm that this will be a great year of reflective teaching and learning.

Prior to me becoming a member of the De La Salle and La Salle Family, I've been privileged to serve in various capacities in the education world including guest teacher, Student Mentor, Middle School Math Teacher, High School Algebra 1 Teacher, READ 180 Teacher, Regular Classroom Teacher, Middle School Communication Arts Teacher Teacher, AVID Teacher, College Summit Advisor, Head Girls Volleyball Coach, Head Girls Track and Field Coach, Head Boys Track and Field Coach, Saturday Learning Lab Teacher, Project Restore Tutor, and Reading Interventionist.
STARS, as we go forth into another fantastic year of learning and growing together, our collaborative efforts to increase student success will pay off in the end!  Along with teacher-led instruction, my hope is for the La Salle Family to fall in love with Reading Plus,    adaptive literacy intervention for our student learners.  When implemented with fidelity, the instructional program is designed to improve the fluency, comprehension, and motivation our scholars need to achieve higher levels of success in reading.

Your feedback, assistance, and positive energy are always welcome.  As the school-year progresses along, feel free to contact me by email or phone using the contact information at the top of my page.  Remember, it's a good year to have a great year, and it's a great year to be a STAR! Let's have a STAR-STUDDED year!
