Langstone Adventure Rowing very proudly prepared celebrities John Bishop, Davina McCall, Denise Lewis and Freddie Flintoff for their attempt to cross the Channel on February 28th for Sport Relief.

The row was part of The BT Sport Relief Challenge: "Bishop's Week of Hell" which saw John cycle, row and run from Paris to London covering a gruelling 290 miles in just 5 days and culminating in a hero's welcome in Trafalgar Square.

John's challenge was to raise enough money not only to pay for a vaccine against five deadly diseases for 250,000 children in Africa, but also to help people living incredibly tough lives in the UK.

Mike Gilbert from Langstone Adventure Rowing coached all the rowers before the event and coxed them across the Channel for the attempt, crossing in just under 8hours.

John raised an incredible £3,412,261 for the cause.
