Seven Mile Creek

Seven Mile Creek was named Oct. 6, 1791, by the army which had left Fort Hamilton Oct. 4. At the end of its third day, the army camped on the east side of the creek, on land later in Section 24 of Milford Township. Stephen Cone said the army "gave those streams which they crossed names corresponding with the distance measured from Fort Hamilton to the place where they crossed them." Other creeks named in the same manner were Two Mile Creek and Four Mile Creek.
