Scudder's Mill

Scudder's Mill, or Schudder's Mill, was a gristmill which once stood at Bunker Hill in Reily Township. It was built about 1820 as Kinsey's Mill by John Kinsey. The 1882 county history identifies some later owners of the Kinsey Mill as John Scudder, Obadiah Welliver and Samuel Haslet. The same source said "the mill stood on the south side of the road, a hundred feet above the iron bridge." A post office was established there as Bunker Hill June 21, 1852.
