Rolling Mill Park is a residential area in Section 25 in Lemon Township, south of Middletown, from the west side of Yankee Road west to Amanda, "being between the present (1993) city corporation line and Oxford State Road," according to George Crout. "Its plat was first for 27.43 acres and was filed June 16, 1929, by E. I. and Mary A. Harlan." Crout said "it received its name for its proximity to the American Rolling Mill Company" later known as Armco and recently as AK Steel. It was designed as housing for new employees at the steel mill. It was so close, said Crout, "that men could ride bicycles to work."
