Princess Theater was at 315 High Street, at the southwest corner of High and State streets. It opened Sept. 28, 1907, with about 200 seats. In the 1908 Hamilton city directory, Lou W. Wittman and Carl K. Kilian were listed as proprietors of the theater. They also were partners in the Hamilton Awning & Tent Company at the same address and Wittman was listed as owner of the Phoenix Hotel at 317 High Street. The theater was still listed as the Princess in 1913 city directory. It appears as the Gem Theater in the city directories from 1919-1920 through 1925-1926. Its closing date is uncertain. It was not listed in the 1927-1928 city directory. Leo's Auto Accessories was listed at that address in the 1929-1930 directory.
