New River Junction

New River Junction is a railroad junction north of the Great Miami River in the present village of New Miami. Until their tracks were combined at High Street during construction of the High Street Underpass in the early 1980s, the CSX and Norfolk Southern shared only a short span of right-of-way north of Hamilton. Northbound trains on both railroads shared 1.6 miles of mainline track north from Old River Junction (milepost 31.5) to New River Junction (milepost 33.1) where the Norfolk Southern heads northwest to Eaton and Richmond, and the CSX mainline heads northeast to Dayton.
