Morrell's Station

Morrell's Station was a log stockade built in 1795 by Dr. Calvin Morrell, a New Jersey native and veteran of the American Revolution. Scamyhorn and Steinle said it was in Lemon Township at the present site of Excello. In 1796, a road was surveyed from Fort Hamilton to Morrell's Station. It became the basis for the present Hamilton-Middletown Road (Ohio 4). The road also passed through Gregory's Station, south of present LeSourdsville, and Freeman's Station, at present LeSourdsville.
