Morgan Township

Morgan Township was the 10th township formed, its area taken from Ross Township. Morgan Township was approved March 4, 1811, by Butler County commissioners. Two other townships were formed in 1811; Oxford Aug. 5, and Hanover Dec. 2. Morgan Township was named in honor of Daniel Morgan (1736-1802), a frontier officer who became a successful American general during the American Revolution.
