McKie Field at Hayden Park is Miami University's $3.7 million baseball stadium completed in 2002. It was built with donations from alumni and the Oxford community. Principle donors were Joe Hayden, class of 1951, and son, Jay Hayden, 1974. McKie Field had been established in 1973 through an endowment from the widow of Stanley G. McKie, a 1919 Miami graduate and baseball captain. McKie was a Miami trustee from 1965 until his death in 1969, a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, 1935-36, and a member of the Ohio Senate, 1939-48. In 2003, the Lohnes Indoor Hitting Complex was added to the Miami baseball program. The complex will allow athletes to practice batting year-round. It is a gift of Bill Lohnes, class of 1972, and Paula Lohnes, class of 1970. Bill was a member of the Miami baseball team, 1968-70. Paula was a member of the MU basketball team.
