Hamilton Township

Hamilton Township was created by the Butler County Commission March 14, 1867, " in accordance with the desire of a majority of the freeholders of the City of Hamilton and Fairfield Township." The commission "made a division of the township of Fairfield by taking from it the Second and Third wards of the city," explained Mrs. Benzing in her book, Fairfield, Ohio. There also is a Hamilton Township in Warren County, an eastern neighbor of Butler County.
