Gunckel's Mill

Gunckel's Mill was built about 1810 near the mouth of Elk Creek, north of Trenton, in Madison Township. "A large structure of hewed logs, it consisted of a grist mill with a sawmill attached," said George Crout. "Being near the ford of the creek, and the pioneer settlement of Bloomfield (Trenton), this mill prospered for many years, outlasting most of the others upstream."
