Conrad Formal Gardens is on the northeast corner of the Miami University campus in Oxford. The park is, named for Arthur Conrad, Miami's director of buildings and grounds from 1937 until 1972. The gardens were laid out in 1931, the idea of Wallace P. Roudebush, who served Miami as an administrator from 1911 until his death in 1956. At the end of his 45-year tenure, Roudebush was Miami's treasurer and vice president. The outdoor complex is located between the Marcum Conference Center and the Miami Inn, north of Symmes Hall. It is also the burial place of Robert Hamilton Bishop, Miami's first president.
