School Counseling Program

FCSD#1 Counseling Mission Statement

The FCSD #1 School Counseling mission is to maximize all students in academic achievement, career, and personal/social development. Maximizing students’ development on these three domains will enhance student achievement and advance them in becoming responsible members of society, preparing them for the big picture in life. Building personal/social development will teach students to be respectful, kind, and caring to all. Enhancing academic development will provide students with skills to be proficient and advance in all academic areas. Educating students on career development will help them to explore career interests while emphasizing the importance education has on career options, and preparing them for post-secondary education as well as future contributors to society. The school counseling program helps students to develop respect, enhances academic excellence, and prepares students for future careers. The school counselor develops and maintains a comprehensive program that promotes student attainment of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for lifelong learning and development in academic achievement, career, and personal/social development.
