Lambda Communications has developed new capabilities in the area of sound propagation modeling, with particular emphasis on the design of audible public warning systems. This allows local councils and civil defense planners to predict the effectiveness of sirens and other audible warning devices before committing significant capital expenditure.
Identify high risk groups for targeting with warning systems, in the case of a Tsunami these include densely populated low lying coastal communities  ISO 9613 Sound Propagation Models, based on geographical contour data, allow for the accurate prediction of a siren’s sound dissipation. This allows civil defense planners to evaluate different types and sizes of sirens to identify what best meets their needs  |   |
