Mesh networking is a way to route data between nodes. It allows for continuous connections and reconfiguration around broken or blocked paths by “hopping” from node to node until the destination is reached.

Mesh networks are self-healing: the network can still operate even when a node breaks down or a connection goes bad, as the rest of the nodes can still communicate with each other, directly or through one or more intermediate nodes. As a result, the network is very reliable.

Wireless mesh networking was originally developed for military applications but has undergone significant evolution in the past decade due to radio technology becoming less expensive.
Lambda have designed wireless mesh network for
  • Industrial automation and control
  • Environmental monitoring and Telemetry
  • Smart Grid infrastructure
