Lakewood Tennis Association is a membership-driven tennis organization that has presented a strong adult tennis program for more than 40 years. Though the club has no permanent building or courts, our "home" courts, our home matches are held in three locations: at the Lakewood Park Tennis Center (Kipling and Cedar), at Morse Park (20th and Carr), and Daniels Park (West 14th Avenue and Welch). Dues are $35 for a single, $55 family. LTA teams have a consistent record of reaching the finals in their respective divisions, often winning sectional and national titles.
programs, teams and social events are offered throughout the year and
all members are welcome. The following USTA/CTA teams, based on age, are
offered for both men and women:
Sign up for the USTA and CTA teams begins early in the spring and continues for several months. Those interested in being on a team should contact interclub coordinators as soon as possible as teams fill up quickly. You must have a USTA rating in order to play on a USTA/CTA team. There are three fees associated with playing on a LTA/CTA/USTA team: paid membership in LTA, USTA membership, and a team fee.
The outdoor social season starts in April with our Windscreen Party at the Morse Park courts, where members volunteer to hang the windscreens for the City of Lakewood. Breakfast and lunch are included, followed by a day of social tennis. LTA enjoys monthly outdoor socials in June, July and every other August at either Lakewood Park or Morse Park. Indoor socials are held from October through April at Meadow Creek in winter, always in a different and entertaining format.
Sign-ups for the monthly events (socials) are on a first-come basis. They are published on our website under the LTA Monthly Socials and in the Lakewood Lobber newsletter.
