Booster Club Board Members
The Booster Club Board will consist of six members. Board Members will be appointed and voted upon by current Board Members and serve a three year term. Should a Board Member resign, one will be appointed to replace that member. When members are reappointed or resign, the Board shall meet and select officers. The following officers will be selected or appointed as needed; president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer.
Purpose
The Booster Club was developed to help out students who are involved with approved clubs, organizations, and athletics. They will receive assistance in travel and expenses for items/needs that will help make the programs better along with help improve the students and athletes themselves so they can succeed.
How to receive assistance
Coaches and sponsors will be able to ask for assistance, not parents. The High School Bookeeper has a request form in the office. Coaches and sponsors need to fill out a request and return it to the office for approval by the voting members. Coaches and sponsors must help solicit new memberships once per year. We want them out in the community talking to local business people and getting to know the people that help our programs and students.
Booster Club Board Member Meeting Dates
The Booster Club Board meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at La Junta High School or at a date to be determined and convenient to members. Special meetings can be held, if needed, and agreed by members.
Items that Booster Club will assist
1. Lodging expenses for one night of travel for approved clubs and organizations.
2. Equipment and other essential items that is deemed necessary for our programs to improve.
3. Summer Camps for our student athletes.
4. State or National Conventions/Conferences for approved clubs and organizations to help defray costs.
5. Uniform purchases for athletic teams who are not on the uniform cycle.
6. CHSAA sanctioned All State game sponsorship fee to honor those students with costs.
7. Each request form is taken on an individual basis, and discussed and voted on by the Booster Club Board.
8. We will also assist with after prom and tigers at play even though they are not approved clubs at LJHS.
9. We are also earmarking some money for long term projects to help improve our facilities. Examples would be new bleachers in the gym or lights on the baseball field.
Items that Booster Club will not assist
1. Meal Money
2. T shirts for individual sports or groups
3. Yard signs
4. Locker decorations
5. Anything that does not help our programs or students improve.
