This title called "L'esprit des eaux" (The Spirit of Water) is an ambient instrumental music celebration of Water. It manifests in so many ways, at the core of our experiences, and our existence. The music may be characterized by some as "ambient soundscapes" or background music to be heard (if not listened to) at a low volume level and which "decorates" the sonic environment. Of interest also for those middle of the night waking moments when the mind needs a bit of settling down. In 19th century Victorian science, the luminiferous ether was a medium for the propagation of light. In the early 20th century, the Theosophists and Rosicrucians theorized an etheric plane — a nonmaterial level of reality above the physical plane. When applied to music, ethereal means subtle, airy and light — immaterial and weightless. It's a word often applied to electronic music, where the sounds are not produced by physical instruments and have an abstract, immaterial quality.
