All About Mr. Patterson

  My nam
e is Shawn Patterson. I grew up in Kun
a and loved my experiences as a kid growing up in a small town on a farm. Kuna has had a few changes since then. After marrying my best friend, Loralee, starting
a fa
mily, and graduating from Boise State (GO BRONCOS!!), we moved back to Kuna. We have eight wonderful children, Tanner 21, a student attending BYU Idaho, majoring in education,  Gavin 19 (currently serving a two year mission in the Utica New York Mission), Emma 17 (12th KHS), Kendra 15 (10th KHS), Jenkin 12 (7th KMS), Chase 10 (5th Reed), Collin 7 (2nd Reed), and our baby Kolton 4. My wife and kids are everything to me. I love being part of everything they do. My schedule is fairly busy if you can imagine.
This is my 14th year teaching and my tenth year at Crimson Point. After working for Micron Technology for close to five years I decided that teaching was something that I really wanted to pursue. I didn't go in thinking I would become a PE teacher though. Through a huge chain of events I realized that PE was where I really wanted to be. In 2003, I received my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, K-12, Secondary Education, from Boise State and was hired that Fall to teach at Hubbard Elementary here in Kuna. After two years I transferred to Indian Creek Elementary and taught for a year before being transferred back to Hubbard while Crimson Point was under construction. I have been at Crimson Point since it opened. I absolutely love teaching PE at Crimson Point.
I love spending time with my family playing games, working in the yard, attending sporting events and just chilling. I love to hunt and fish and spend time in the great outdoors. Playing sports has always been a favorite of mine. It really doesn't matter what sport either. Some of my favorites I play are volleyball, basketball, badminton and horse shoe pitching. One winter my wife sent me to a curling clinic and I fell in love. I have always been intrigued by the strategy and precision of the game. I love watching a good sporting event as well. There is nothing better than NCAA football and softball.
I currently help coach the girls varsity fastpitch softball team at Kuna High and have taken girls to the state tournament eight times in the last ten years, bringing home hardware each year and a state championship in 2008. I have also coached football, basketball and volleyball at Kuna High and Middle Schools.  Yes my life seems to rotate around phys
Fishing on the Snakeical activity and I love it.
I look forward to working with your children this school year. Please feel free to visit your child in the gym during PE, any time.
