Fidalgo Island Quilters Quilt Walk, Anacortes, WA

April 1 to April 30

The Fidalgo Island Quilters (FIQ) Quilt Guild ( will present the 2015 Quilt Walk in downtown Anacortes, WA from April 1 to 30. Scheduled to run the entire month of April, it coincides with the highly popular Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Many merchants throughout the downtown core, mostly on Commercial Avenue, provide space for guild members to display a wide variety of traditional, contemporary, and art quilts.

Quilted items will be on display during regular business hours, and there is never an admission charge. Quilt Walk maps to guide you along the way are available at participating merchants, the Anacortes Visitor Center, and the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum. FIQ will not host a quilt show in 2015, so the Quilt Walk is the prime opportunity to view recent work from the studios of member quilters.

Make a day of it and stroll through the tulip fields, then visit Anacortes to view beautiful, creative quilts. Enjoy lunch, unique shopping, art galleries, and much more. The Quilt Walk, an annual offering, is a sanctioned event of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

FIQ, established in 1982, is a registered non-profit organization that supports the Skagit County Domestic Violence Center with donations of hand-made quilts for children to take with them when they leave. The guild delivers about 300 quilts a year to the Skagit Center, the Anacortes Family Center, Project Linus, and other organizations that support and protect vulnerable children. New members, quilters or not, are always welcome at monthly meetings. Visit for details.
